Lakota withdraw from treaties, declare independence from US

"It's really sad that all the talk of Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy and other trivial shit is considered more important or interesting than this.."

I've probably heard the same story on Jamie Lynn Spears at least 10 times from several different "news" networks. I'm sure that there are plenty of Americans who have no idea who the Lakota are, as sad and cynical as that sounds, and everyone by now knows that the Spears girls are fuck-ups so it isn't exactly news...

And this is the first I've heard of the Lakota withdrawal.
Wow -- that's remarkable. I haven't done my usual routine (checking news online compulsively and whatnot) for the past day and this is the first I've heard of this! Veddddddy interesting... thanks for the heads up.
Who is Jamie Lynn Spears? It sounds like that's a good thing that I don't know, but I was also unaware of the Lakota's declaration. It's so hard to know what to say about the Native Americans - sometimes I've felt that they got a worse deal than African Americans. Despite slavery, at least they eventually got representation. However, saying that can be quite controversial. I'm glad that you brought this topic out!
Interesting... this will be a story to watch...
